The Global Dialogue Conference Series

The Global Dialogue Conference Series consists of five international conferences promoting global dialogue on values in research and praxis.  The conferences will take place in Aarhus biannually from 2009 to 2017 and will precede the biannual award ceremony for the Global Dialogue Prize.

Each of the five summits has the specific aim of promoting intercultural competence on one particular topic in the global dialogue on values.

The theme of the Global Dialogue Conference 2009 is "Responsibility - Climate Change as intercultural inquiry on values" and will take place November 3-6.

The Global Dialogue Conferences are international events with about 200-400 participants from all over the world.  Each summit has four tracks:

  • research as foundational and conceptual studies,
  • research applications in education,
  • research applications in business,
  • research applications in Journalism.

The four tracks run simultaneously and participants are able to change freely from one track to the other.  In this way research on intercultural dialogue and value theory will be closely linked to three levels of praxis. Each summit has 10-16 plenary speakers and around 40 sessions, including workshops.  All conference papers are peer-reviewed, and there will be both a pre-conference publication available at the conference start and conference proceedings available after the conference.
